Alert – Stamps Running Amuck!!

swbbreaking1Is “amuck” an actual real word, anyway?

BTW … if you didn’t get stamps yesterday, you are paying two more cents today.

Don’t freak too much if you haven’t heard the word … stamps have gone up again.  You better go raid your kid’s piggy banks! They’re gone up a whole two cents!!

Now, to most of us, this isn’t a huge deal -we’ll wine for a bit, then move on.  For others this is worse than a major car crash,  a massive stock loss, or just plain wrong.  Why? People like to complain.

OK, granted, there is some validity on the over spending and some mismanagement of  the post-office – but those complaints are mostly posed by corporate America because they have to do large mailings at times – so two cents can add up.  The only issue with that is corporate American needs to clean itself up before it expects the post-office does.

SWB isn’t happy about the rate raise … mainly that’s because we’re just cheap.  This is one of the few times that possibly the rate raising is justified because of how the economy is hitting the post office too.

PS – Where is the humor in this?  Well, besides the little blurbs of it in the posting … compare the size of an article on a two cent raise in postal rates to the size of an article on cancer research major discovery.  You might get it after that.

Enjoyed your post, as usual. BTW, I think it’s “amok”

That’s correct. We just wanted to use the yinzer/PA dutch derivative that effectively smashed the quality of the correct word, “amock”. 🙂 We know the Queen of England would probably appreciate the humor.
