Monday Morning in America

swbtwitterWelcome to Monday morning in America. Most likely GMA or Today is on your screen – unless you are a gamer, then you are probably still up from the weekend.

If you are parents, you are dealing with children that just awoke with renewed energy (or additional energy to what they and the night before). If you have pets, they are probably waiting to bask in your attention. If you work in the news media, you are highly disappointed because not enough people have gotten the swine flu to give you that career changing story.

One thing I think America has in common with everyone internationally: Nobody likes Monday morning because it’s never what we want it t be. For the parents – a quiet start to the week. For the pet owners – love not need. For the journalist – a story all will want to read.

Waking up early and getting to work for another five days of fun, for some reason never bring a smile to ones eyes. Maybe it’s because we don’t look at the positive things. For one, most companies still provide free coffee. Your co-workers occasionally provide the comedy and soap opera relief you need due to the lack of TV while at work. The stress level keeps your blood flowing (preventing circulation issues). And think about the drive. Where else better to get that much needed quiet time?

PS – See Monday morning is they way it is just because of our collective attitudes internationally – see, we really are all the same 😉

Aren’t there some countries where the weekend is NOT Saturday and Sunday? Maybe they see Monday as “hump day”

Yes, true, but many people in American don’t realize that ….. sounds like a good “culture” post. I haven’t done on of those in a while. It will take me a little do get the research together, unless you can point me to a few solid info sites.
