Parkway East Deadly Wreck – travelling the wrong way

streetshotSWB stock shot of highway

It’s bad when anyone dies on the highway, but this one is definitely one to be submitted to The Darwin Awards.

Mr. Brazell proceeded at a high rate of speed in the wrong direction on the Parkway East and was killed instantly (probably because the dolt didn’t use his seatbelt). There are barriers separating the lanes, so getting in the wrong lane “by accident” takes a great deal of work, therefore rarely if never happens. I know this because I traveled those exact same roads going to work everyday for six year to the Alcoa RDC plant. The driver in the other car was taken to UPMC.

Now, let’s all vote this guy into the Darwin Awards — we haven’t had a Pittsburgher even as runner up for a while.

Here is the PG reference article for your reading pleasure.

PS – For those in the same gene pool: The “WRONG WAY” sign actually does mean you are going in the wrong direction!

We have that happen all the time here in Charlotte — it’s unbelievable how people can get going that way
